Lanexis Distributor Portal

A B2B business management platform for Lanexis Industries. One Django REST backend powers both the distributor web portal and the React Native app on the App Store and Google Play, so orders, quotes and invoices stay consistent on every device.

Overview

The Lanexis Distributor Portal is a B2B business management platform for Lanexis Industries and its distributors. I built and shipped it end to end as a freelance software engineer for Lanexis: the API, permissions, audit trail, file uploads and AWS deployment. It is live in production with 100+ active users across web and mobile.

What it covers

  • Orders, quotes and invoices that distributors create and track.
  • Price lists and products managed centrally.
  • Distributors and reports for the Lanexis team.
  • Technical requests raised from the portal or the app.

Architecture

A single API is the source of truth, and the clients are thin. Every write goes through one service layer and every read through scoped selectors, so the portal and the mobile app cannot disagree about the business rules.

Web portal / React Native app→Nginx→Gunicorn · Django · DRF→PostgreSQL (RDS) + S3
  • Shared API: JWT-secured Django REST Framework endpoints (SimpleJWT) consumed by both the portal and the mobile app.
  • Cloud setup: Nginx and Gunicorn on an AWS EC2 instance, PostgreSQL on RDS, file storage on S3. Docker is part of the stack.

Security and hardening

  • Login-attempt protection that correctly reads the real client IP behind Nginx, so lockouts target the right address.
  • Role-based permissions and JWT token authentication.

The source is a private client repository. I am happy to walk through the architecture and code in an interview.

Let's build something dependable.
